Myyab.com was founded in the spring of 2008 by Scott and Cristina Weedman in Carlsbad, CA. The company offers an innovative recreational floatation device—YAB or Your Aquatic Buddy—on-line as well as YAB apparel and accessories.

The idea for YAB was conceived while vacationing on Lake Havasu. As temperatures soared on the lake, the desire to stay cool was paramount. The creators of YAB wanted not only to jump in the water, but also to stay there, comfortably and easily, without holding on to something, save for a drink! It was as simple as that--an idea was born!

"We wanted something completely different," says Cristina, Co-founder of myyab.com. "A product that satisfied a host of needs."  They went to work on a design that they felt satisfied an obvious need, but was also cool looking, comfortable, easy to use and identifiable. As they worked on and tested their design, it became clear that the market had nothing like it. "Every focus group we've put together has provided positive feedback, especially the kids, and different applications pop up all the time from excited users," says a grinning Cristina.

"I want YAB to be visually recognizable as 'like a life-vest', but not," says Scott. "It clicks together like a vest and wraps around like one. I don't want people to stare at my product and have to figure it out. I want the opposite."

Your Aquatic Buddy is a new recreational flotation device designed specifically to help users relax in the water without flotation aids. Its innovative, patent-pending design lowers a user’s line of buoyancy from across the shoulders to around the waist, allowing one’s head and shoulders to remain comfortably above water.
